Katy is an integral team member for the Auraria Campus. She manages a small team of humble, passionate marketing and communications professionals that execute at a high level. Katy is a trusted resource to campus leadership, and I rely on her without hesitation. I trust Katy to get the job done. I am so impressed by her accountability and attitude. The responsibility for communicating crisis issues can be a heavy one, especially given that the incidents themselves can be demoralizing. Katy handles herself with professionalism, and is eager to engage with and learn more from the Auraria Campus Police Department and the Emergency Planning and Response Committee. Katy’s work is key to the agency achieving its objectives. She helps us shine! She and her team lead intentional campaigns with agency departments that help drive sales, awareness, and positive relationships. The words adaptable, flexible, and creative fit Katy to a T.
I had the pleasure of working with Katy Brown for two years (Oct 22 – Oct 24), including direct supervision. Katy is an extremely thoughtful person, and displays that thoughtfulness in her leadership of individuals, teams, and functions. Katy brings extensive experience in brand management, content marketing and communication management. Under Katy’s leadership, the marketing team completed a website redesign, aligned and improved brand management, and created a communication plan for improved engagement. Additionally, Katy is true people manager – motivating, mentoring, and growing individuals and teams. It has been a pleasure to work with and alongside Katy. I strongly recommend her for future roles.
Katy is a superstar. She is incredibly hard working, easy to work with, very detail oriented and careful, and is building relationships across our law school community. In the wake of our Director of Communications' departure, she produced our spring Amicus, one of the best ever, conducted a very successful search for a new Communications Director, and pulled off the best Law Alumni Banquet we have ever had.
As the Director of Communications & Campus Outreach, Katy Brown is involved in a wide range of communications and marketing initiatives for the Auraria Campus and its three academic institutions that share the campus (Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and the University of Colorado Denver). Ms. Brown, along with the Integrated Marketing & Communications team she has built, has brought about a level of consistency, quality, and brand recognition that our agency has been missing. Her eye for detail, consensus-building skill, and technical expertise have allowed for the successful completion of a variety of impactful projects.
A manager is typically someone who sticks to an agenda, tells their team what to do, and expects them to do it. Katy Brown is much more than a good manager – she is an excellent leader. As a genuine leader, Katy shoulders the expectations placed on the IMC department and inspires our team to rise and follow her leadership of our own free will. She consistently supports our team and encourages us to step up and confidently take on whatever marketing and communications challenges arise, knowing implicitly that she will always support us. Katy leads our team by example. She is constantly taking on new challenges and we are encouraged and supported to do the same. Supporting the marketing and communications goals and needs of AHEC, as well as a variety of tri-institutional departments, is challenging. A typical workday often means having to switch gears and reprioritize projects without advance notice. Katy’s experience, unwavering support, strength, and vision as a leader supports our team in consistently meeting deadlines and providing high-quality service to all of our clients.
Katy is a consummate professional with exceptional skills around marketing and communications. I have had the pleasure of knowing Katy for many years and now, I have had the privilege of working with her both as a contractor and as an employee for over two years. Her commitment to our organization and her work ethic was consistently excellent regardless of whether she represented us as a contractor or as an employee. Her vision, understanding of marketing and her ability to communicate and develop messaging to meet the needs of the multi-faceted and challenging industry in which we are engaged were top notch. Her dedication and willingness to do what is required was always impressive. She is an amazing person and someone that I cannot recommend highly enough.
